Led Zeppelin IV. Nothing is bigger than it. To borrow a pitchfork writers words "listening to Led Zeppelin IV is like fucking the grand canyon". I don't think it could be said better than that.

Except for a few tender soft moments, Are You Experienced is also quite the rocker. Also all of the early Who.

Early Who? I find the most rocking Who album to be Who's Next, and the early stuff to be rather poppy.

Agree completely on IV and Are You Experienced.

Then of course there's Raw Power, Born To Run.

Going outside the super-canonical stuff, bands I find really rocking are Sleater-Kinney, Drive By Truckers.

Definitely, not maybe, Definitely Maybe. First album I thought of when I read the thread title. Doolittle would be a second.

Kick Out the Jams, Raw Power, Ramones, No Sleep Til Hammersmith.

Anybody who wants a laugh should listen to Scharpling & Wurster's Rock Rot and Rule. Everytime I see something like this I'm reminded of it.

The Clash's debut and The White Stripes' Elephant immediately come to mind for me.
