#1 and #2 are very close but today my list is :

1. Talking Heads
2. The Clash
3. Sex Pistols
4. Ramones

I like all four.

1. The Clash - One of the greatest bands ever.

2. Sex Pistols - Still disliked by many on this forum, which is saying something.
3. Talking Heads - Gradually moving up my list.
4. Ramones - One trick pony with a great trick.

The Clash are without a doubt #1. Sex Pistols have too little output, The Ramones songs all sound too similar, and The Talking Heads I haven't really gotten into.

I love all four. The order of #2 and #3 probably depends on which day you ask me.

1) The Clash. For sheer musical variety, they win this handsdown with me.
2) The Ramones. If I listen to a whole CD of their stuff, it sorta sounds like 1 long song. But it's a good song.
3) Talking Heads- I'm still hit and miss with them. Basically like the singles but haven't "got" the albums.
4) Sex Pistols- I think the Pistols are HUGELY overrated.

In my opinion, though the Sex Pistols are good, maybe great, they are one of the most overrated bands out there. seriously.

These are fun. I think we should definately make a forum game out of this.

1. The Clash - In a completely different league than the other 3. Angry yet graceful, approachable but
complex. One of the greatest bands of all-time.

2. The Ramones - Solid work, reminded rock and roll that exuberance is important. Had the best output in the mid-70s along with Bruce Springsteen.

3. Talking Heads - I like Remain in Light as well as some singles. I wouldn't consider myself a big fan though. About tied with.....

4. The Sex Pistols - One of the most influential and important bands of all time. However, to me, their music doesn't stand up to the hype.

As indicated by the brackets info, this is not my favourite genre (although I think of Talking Heads as funk and not punk).
