Live versions better than the original studio songs: Our Individual Lists

In general, I don’t usually like live albums, but sometimes they contain versions even better than the original studio songs. Here is my list in chronological order:

1. The Rolling Stones: SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL – The Killer Festival. Altamont, 1969 (bootleg) (Beggar’s Banquet, 1968)
2. Paco Ibáñez: PALABRAS PARA JULIA - Paco Ibáñez en El Olympia, 1969 (Paco Ibáñez canta a José Agustín Goytisolo, 1969)
3. Van Morrison: I’VE BEEN WORKING - It’s too Late to Stop Now, 1974 (Van Morrison, His Band & The Sreet Choir, 1970)
4. Grateful Dead: CASEY JONES - Steal Your Face, 1976 (Workingman’s Dead, 1970)
5. Talking Heads: PSYCHO KILLER - Stop Making Sense, 1984 (Talking Heads ’77, 1977)
6. Talking Heads: SLIPPERY PEOPLE - Stop Making Sense, 1984 (Speaking in Tongues, 1983)
7. Peter Gabriel: I HAVE THE TOUCH - Plays Live, 1983 (Peter Gabriel III, 1980)
8. Paolo Conte: VIA CON ME - Concerti, 1986 (Paris Milonga, 1981)
9. Neil Young: TRANSFORMER MAN - MTV Unplugged, 1993 (Trans, 1982)
10. Tim Buckley: MORNING GLORY - Morning Glory, 1995 (Goodbye and Hello, 1967)
11. Stevie Wonder: SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED, I’M YOURS - Natural Wonder, 1995 (Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours, 1970)
12. Fleetwood Mac: DREAMS - The Dance, 1997 (Rumours, 1977)

Re: Live versions better than the original studio songs: Our Individual Lists

I can't compile a whole list like You, but the one that comes to my mind at once is "No Woman, No Cry" by Bob Marley. The "Natty Dread" version sounds not a bit as atmospheric as the live version.

An artist whose studio albums are all mediocre at best while his live recordings sound teriffic is Vasco Rossi. You can take any Vasco Rossi song: the live version is way better.

Jeff Buckley - Eternal Life

That's way better live...
