I think my bracket is pretty screwed. Don't know why I picked Wisconsin and West Virginia in my money bracket, but picked USC and Duke here. Hedging my bets I guess.
Well, you have more riding on it than I do, Moonbeam, but if I'm reading this right, whichever of us wins that matchup will have the lead going into the Sweet 16 (although everybody is still definitely in contention).
I've been doing this on the other thread, but I'll go ahead and put it here today:
In the Tennessee/Butler game,
John, Moonbeam, AJackson, Greg and Stammer have Tennessee.
Penguin, Rocky and I have Butler.
Other than that game, there's not quite as much drama today. All eight of us picked Texas, Georgetown, Memphis, Louisville and UNC for the Sweet 16.
Unsurprisingly, none of us picked Villanova/Siena or WKU/San Diego. We can rest secure in the knowledge that all of us blew both of those contests. Enjoy.
(Villanova/Siena? What is this, an Italian tournament?)
For everybody who's bored silly by all this, don't worry--tomorrow we'll get back to all music, all the time (well, until Thursday).
Also, congratulations, Greg--great win for the Davidson Wildcats.
I leave you with this:
When some loud braggart tries to put me down
And says his school is great
I tell him right away
Now what's the matter, buddy
Ain't you heard of my school?
It's number one in the state
So be true to your school
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school
While I may be leading at this point, Schleuse's prospects are much better than mine, with 7 of his Elite 8 still alive and all of his Final 4 teams still in the mix.
I'm still going strong with my other bracket if Xavier can get to the final four. Crossing fingers because it's like a $1000 dollar payout for taking first $500 something for second and only one person above me has Xavier in the final four. I haven't figured out if anyone could still beat me though.
Getting tickets, or beating the Jayhawks? (She's having so much fun that I don't want to dash her hopes, but, yeah, I don't think they have a prayer against KU.)
How many of you here are not American. What do you think of how this tournament is structured and do you like it. The two freshmen Derrick Rose and Kevin Love have made a big impact on their teams. This is one sporting event that does it right here in the states.
Just like the tourney, there's only two left. Everybody has both their championship teams eliminated except Schleuse and Penguin. If Memphis wins, Penguin wins. If Kansas wins, Schleuse wins. Oh, the drama! I won't be rooting for Calipari.
1. Penguin: 107 points- Total possible:118
2. Schleuse: 100 points- Total possible: 111
Oops, you're right. I looked at his bracket wrong and thought he had Kansas as the champ. Schleuse wins no matter if Memphis does or not. Congrats, Schleuse: You are our resident bracketologist.
