...and you go dancing on the table when you find them!
This could be your personal alltime favorites, but not necessarily. I tend to always look first for anything by Depeche Mode and The Cure. They are my old favorites and I think they deserve more love. Why "Some Great Reward" is not on AM is beyond me.
Which albums are you looking for?
Neutral Milk Hotel, IN THE AEROPLANE OVER THE SEA
Eno, HERE COME THE WARM JETS
Beck, SEA CHANGE
Those are the ones that most immediately come to mind for me.
Talk Talk LAUGHING STOCK
Sonic Youth DAYDREAM NATION
Massive Attack MEZZANINE
The Flaming Lips THE SOFT BULLETIN
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
My favourite band.
no question... van dyke park's SONG CYCLE - well known but seldomly listed. makes me cheer everytime i spot it amidst one's recommendation packet (truly adore paul morley for listing it even twice... i saw him listing it... twice! i saw him listing it.... TWICE! --- stale quotation by now. sorry )
I wonder who I usually look for first.
Of her albums, though, Like a Prayer is the one I look for to score best on critical lists/features.
Prince- 1999: If eligible and not included, it's not a good list!
Anything by The Cure
Anything by Eurythmics
Anything by Blondie
Kylie Minogue- Fever
Warren Zevon -- "Warren Zevon" or "Excitable boy"
Steve Wynn -- "Kerosene Man"
Zevon does occur occasionally ... :-)
