Gerard Smith, bassist of TV on the Radio, died of lung cancer today, just a month or so after his diagnosis was first announced. He was 34. The band has cancelled at least their next few shows. Really sad news.

This is awful. I had heard of the diagnosis, but I had no idea it was this serious. At least he got to see his final record released.

So sad, ruined my day. So soon. Second the though it wasn't so serious although it was a cancer commentary. Really believed he would recovered and come back in an even better shape. Rest in Peace.
