I was working in Nottingham in the early 70’s and I had the privilege of meeting Dougal Robertson when he was signing books in the Victoria Centre. We spent some time talking and I will never forget what an enjoyable and interesting experience it was. He signed a book for me, and another for my brother, who is no longer alive.
I wish all of you the very best!

Have read both books by the Robertson family, half way through Douglas’s at the moment. Their books sit on the same shelf as Joshua Slocum’s, Francis Chichester, and many other famous mariners.
The fate of the Lucette may explain the disappearance of small yachts including some around Tasmania where I live.

I love your story. I watch Survive the Savage Sea (1992) a lot. I wish I had been shipwrecked with you. It would have been a real adventure. Much more interesting and worthwhile than sitting in front of a computer all day!

I discovered this amazing story today when I was reading an article in The Times online about Joe Simpson\'s Touching The Void. At the bottom of the page is a list of The Top Five Survival Stories; Survive The Savage Sea being one of them. Had to read more so looked up on Google and here I am :slightly_smiling_face:
