I was at KBGS from 1965 until it became Oakbank School. I left in 1972 after A levels. I moved South on \"missionary work\" in 1979 and over years lost touch with all my old school mates. I can be contacted via davidaet@gmail.com. I\'d love to hear from any Old Keighlian but in particular Dean Puddephatt, Martin Stubbs, Paul Woodwiss, Nigel Stafford, Chris Lonsdale, David Thornton and anyone else who was at the school when I was.

Sad to hear the news of the death of Danny Jones, Keighley Cougars stalwart and found this site for my old school by accident while reading the story. I attended KBGS from 61-68 and have great memories and much fondness for the place as it helped me get to where I am now.

1957 - 62, initially in 1A, but thereafter relegated to Div.2 (B stream). Some masters inspiring (eg Prut, Percy, Ben Tren); some others should never have been allowed authority over 30 adolescent boys. Due to the latter, I left at the first opportunity.

Amazed to see so many old boys have posted comments. I was at the school 1951-56, in B stream and Barrett house. Unfortunately I have no contact with anyone form the school and have been in Oz for 40 years. The school first introduced me to Rugby which is still my first sporting preference. I remember classmates Harry Collins, Ross Uttley and Barrie Whittingam and teachers Charlie Peach, Spike Rennard, Dai Davies and of course old Nick. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me

Where are you from?

I now live in Wales, just outside Carmarthen

Do you have any comments?

I only spent a few years at KBGS before my parents moved to Wales, but I do look back on my time their with great nostalgia. With hindsight, it was a very happy time in my life, and very formative. I was there roughtly between 1956 and 1959. I was in Barrat House, and one of my formmasters was Mr Greenwood, the musicmaster. I remember that he got me caned for playing his piano without his permission - happy days!
