I am hoping you will not mind me adding a remark on your guestbook simply because I thought I had to state something as a result of exploring your internet site. You've got to be an expert with this website stuff as I found my visit to be rather fun and will obviously be popping back here for yet another look before long. I've recently experienced an heating session and am relaxing with my computer to wind down, and your site took my thoughts off my problems for a few minutes, many thanks Brooks Heating. |

Happy New Year 2009 to all Mirfielders and their relatives worldwide - ex pats et al. Don't let the politicans make your life a misery think of those wonderful Mirfield people back in the early 1900s. My grandfather Temple Dixon ( 1904 ) was one of them. Good Luck Geoff ( 70th year ) 2009. |

further to my original visit in june, 2008, and with further knowledge of my paternal grandfather, Temple Dixon, who worked in Mirfield 1900 I now have an even greater appreciation of the town, and all that it means to its original citizens. I cannot explain how deep my inner feelings are for such a place in my life, so late on. Temple Dixon clearly received inspiration in Mirfield from which to go forward into his working life. God Bless all, and Happy Christmas / New Year. |

since my original visit I have came to the Mirfield Open Day and stayed 26.06.-29.06. at the local riverside tavern-cum-inn, boating yard. Also, with the help of local librarians discovered important info on my relatives, i.e. grandfather who worked in Mifield 1904-railways. Also my great grandmother Emma France ( b. 1851 ) was a local girl ( Wakefield ). Emma married William Dixon. Son, Temple Dixon my grandfather 1893-1953. I have a close feeling for Mifield and will never forget the area, or reading the memorabilia, i.e. CD-rom, books, maps, etc. Good luck to this web site. 9( Ref. 17,410. 23.11.2008 ) Happy Xmas everybody !!! |

I attended the Verona Fathers seminary at Roe Head between 1964 and 1967 and would like others who were there to contact me. We have a reunion each year in Mirfield. |

My First Great Grandfather was Jesse Bowley. He provided the Hay and Straw for the whole of Mirfield for 40 years or more (1860 to 1904). His business was next door to the Black Bull (around the back). If anybody out there as information or a photograph showing the business I would exrtremely delighted to purchase a copy. |

A very good site although I could not see any sign of my grandfathers business. |

came to Mirfield 25.06.-29.06, stayed at Navigation Tavern, visited 62 Calder Road Hopton-Mirfield where my grandather Temple Dixon lodged. Had a pint at Yorkshire Volunteer / Flower Pot got the ambience. Brilliant !. Staff at library excellent. Kevin o'donnell, great character. Your web site excellent. Keep it going. I am sure Temple Dixon ( 1901 lodger/railwayman) would appreciate your contributions to MIRFIELD as would all those who died as brave soldiers from Mirfield & district. God Bless. Geoffrey E. Dixon-Hamilton |

having now thoroughly reviewed all the web site, it is even better than when I first viewed it purely for the introduction. I only wish I could make my web site as consumer friendly, as yours. It is the selection of music which truly makes it an unforgettable visit. Good luck with the book, and future projects of this nature. |

you have it just right. Brilliant, especially the theme tune, which really haunts me when I play it, as it reminds me for some reason of my childhood and my relatives from both Durham and Yorkshire mininf colliery villages Kippax / Kimblesworth - Dixon's, Normans, Claytons |
