1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

http://watchfortheday.org/trumpets2011.html

September 15, 2011

It has been one year since there was the theory of the Rapture occurring on the Feast of Trumpets 2010. A number of individuals believe that 2011’s Feast of Trumpets is the correct time to anticipate the Rapture of the Church. The bulk of the reasoning behind this is that it is the last time to squeeze in a 70 year timeline from the founding of Israel in 1948 to 2018 and it would place the Tetrads of 2014 and 2015 in the middle of the 70th Week.

While the legitimacy of this view may be questioned as with any view, the important matter is that if the Last Trump is not blown to gather us on the Feast of Trumpets in 2011, then many will start to question much of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Doctrine. This has been seen before with those who were on fire for the return of Christ and then they start to question foundational beliefs. This is always unfortunate. The solid Pre-Tribulation Rapture position is founded on Scripture and not a timeline. When we allow timelines fulfilled or unfulfilled to alter the clear teaching of Scripture, then we are always in error.

If 2011 is the year of the Rapture, then that will be fantastic. If it is not, then it is still the plan of God. It is still the perfect plan of God that will fulfill the patterns and hints throughout the Bible. We can be assured of that.

The issue before us then is that 70 years minus 7 years is now at its limit from 1948. After 2011 it is safe to say that time will have to move beyond and enter the extra period of “by strength” according to the Psalmist (90:10). Either way, we are living in the most exciting and maybe depressing time to be alive (seeing the byproducts of rejecting God), but we must not lose heart and we must focus on the prize.

He is still coming on His appointed schedule...

Update – September 30, 2011

Obviously now, the Feast of Trumpets for 2011 was not the appointed time for the Rapture. For those who believed it was indeed meant to be the Rapture moment, now is not time to be caught off balance by the enemy. It is time to be wholly grounded in the Word of God. God’s schedule is still right on time and is still quickly coming to pass just as the prophets said it would. Any human miscalculations do not alter any teaching from the Bible or provide any such evidence against it. The scoffers may claim victory and beat their drums, but where is that type of behavior ever condoned? It is actually one of the signs of the times...

Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. –2 Peter 3:1-7

Any serious watcher will probably have anticipated a few years that have come and gone with unmet expectations. But it is never time to throw in the towel. It is always time for a balanced life in the Bible, which always includes remaining watchful and being vigilant. It is never time to surrender any crowns...

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Thanks for this article, Dan. I'm always hoping and watching for our savior to catch away his church, but I am sad that the Feast of Trumpets is over now for 2011. I don't know what else to say.

Kevin

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Don't be, Kevin. Jesus isn't obligated to come get His Church on a Jewish feast day, and there's no way Israel's going to be able to hold out till Rosh Hashana next year. It's still any day now, and that's the good news.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

I hope you're right Kathy, but the first four feasts have been fulfilled and the next one to be fulfilled is the Feast of Trumpets. I really thought that 2011 would be our year of redemption. All of the signs have pointed to this timeframe.

Kevin

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

And they still do, Kevin; that's the good news. The Rapture, as I've said, does not have to take place on a Jewish feast day. The Feast of Trumpets may not be fulfilled by the Rapture, anyway; it may be fulfilled by some future event pertaining to the Jews, not the Church. The Rapture can literally take place on any day of the year.

This is what I was afraid would happen, should the Rapture not occur during Rosh Hashana; that everyone would give up and stop watching. I knew that chances were, it would not occur during the Feast of Trumpets, and indeed, it didn't. But there are still three months left in 2011, during which time the Rapture can still occur, and given the way prophetic developments are taking place as I'm typing this, there's just no way the Rapture can be delayed another year. Israel simply can't hold out that long. Its very survival is in mortal danger right now; unless God intervenes fast, that tiny nation will soon be history. God's wrath cannot be held off that long, either. There's a very good chance that it'll occur this month. It could happen literally any day now, and that's something to cheer about!

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Kevin,

I agree with Kathy, there is no way Israel will be able to hold out until the Feast of Trumpet 2012. I believe that 2011 is still a strong possibility for the Rapture.

Maranatha!

Valerie

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

I agree! It's not over! In reviewing Matthew 24, it appears that Jesus is speaking to the Jews about His second coming and the first thing He does is to gather his elect, vs.31. Could these be the Tribulation saints and the fulfillment of Feast of Trumpets? Wouldn't they REALLY need to know the exact timing of His coming? Also, could this be the fulfillment of the fall feasts in real time, just as Jesus fulfilled the spring feasts in real time? Paul was the first to speak in detail about the mystery of the Rapture, I believe. Paul's quote in 1 Thess. 5 about "peace and safety" really got my attention in light of Israel's current plight.

I am so rapture ready, I've got to come up with something that makes sense! Could this mean we could still go HOME any time?

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Keep watching for our Lord. He said He would return and He will. Have you ever watched war movies where a commander has troops hold off until just the right moment to move or fire? God has a plan. He has not left us alone. Jesus said that He would not leave us as orphans.

Here's a what if for your discernment.
I have heard that God is waiting on a number of souls, (fullness of the Gentiles)rather than an event such as one of the feasts to have Jesus return. Christ did fulfill the "spring feasts" and I believe that the fall ones will be fulfilled as well. If the "trump" that sounds when the dead are raised and believers changed to immortality is the sound of God's voice instead of a physical trumpet, the feast of trumpets is still going to be fulfilled because it is a shadow of the real thing. An acting out of an event. Gods voice being the real thing. Ha, sounding a bit like Plato there

Seriously, I'm still watching and hoping for the Lord. He is real. God the Father is real. I think if either one of them spoke out from heaven it would be as commanding as a trumpet.

I hope its now, tomorrow, the next few days. All I can say is Come Lord Jesus. The Holy Spirit and the bride say come.

God bless you all.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Everything is going to happen according to God's plan but the one thing that really stands out in my my as far as the timing for 2011 rapture is the 2017-2018 Jubilee year which is announced on Yom Kippur and the tie in with the prophecy of Jubilees by Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel. Of course this is no gaurantee of a 2011 rapture, however the previous 10 Jubilee predictions proved accurate so we can assume that this upcoming Jubilee prediction will also be fulfilled.
Im still praying though that this is the timing.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Take heart everyone. Although Yom Teruah/Rosh Hashanah seemed to marry up perfectly with the scriptures I believe there is more to this than meets the eye.

The past two days are to be a holy convocation to the Lord. As I'm sure all of you have been doing we are to consecrate this time to seek and praise the Lord for our undeserved redemption.

The next ten days are the days of repentance leading up to Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)! We need to make ourselves READY in all HOLINESS. As Dr.Owuor says "put on the garment of righteousness and holiness."

Leviticus 25:9 (NIV)
Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land.

This leads us up to Sukkot or Tabernacles - THE FEAST OF THE INGATHERING- This is a 7 day appointment just as in Jewish Wedding Tradition.

From: http://www.his-forever.com/jewish_weddings_rapture.htm

Shortly after arrival, the bride (remaining veiled) and groom would be escorted by the other members of the wedding party to the bridal chamber (huppah)

Parallel to the custom of the Jewish groom and bride entering into physical union after their arrival and thereby consummating the marriage that was covenanted earlier, Christ and the church (bride) will experience spiritual union after their arrival in heaven; thereby consummating their relationship covenanted earlier.

After the marriage was consummated, the groom would announce the consummation to the other members of the wedding party waiting outside the chamber. These people would in turn pass this news on to the wedding guests. Upon hearing this good news, the wedding guests would begin the feast and make merry for the next 7 days.

During those 7 days of the wedding festivities (sometimes called "the 7 days of huppah"), the bride remained hidden in the bridal chamber.

In correspondence with the Jewish bride remaining hidden in the bridal chamber for 7 days after arrival at the groom's father's house, the church (bride) will remain hidden for a period of 7 years after arrival in heaven.

While the 7 year tribulation period is taking place on earth, the church will be hidden from the sight of those living on the earth.

At the conclusion of the 7 days, the groom would bring his bride out of the bridal chamber, now with her veil removed, so that all could see who his bride was.

So Christ will bring the Church (Bride) out of heaven in His second coming at the conclusion of the 7-year tribulation period in full view of all who are alive, so that all can see who the true Church (Bride) is. (Colossians 3:4, Jude 14)

We should all observe these Moeds of the Lord that take place this month and seek him as never before. Knowing that these will be the last appointments before our time with him in Heaven.

As Kathy stated we will not know the day or hour but I KNOW in my spirit we will not be here in 2012.

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Grace and Peace

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

STILL WATCHING 2011

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Good thread! Anytime now... 2011 I firmly believe! Hang in there Kevin!!

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Tim, those of us who see in the scriptures that the rapture will occur before "Jacob's Trouble"/Daniel's last week/tribulation period are probably more mission minded than the pew warmers in many of the dead churches that are not looking for Jesus at all. Looks like to me that Daniel's reason for this thread seems to be only one of encouragement. I believe he means that rapture is foundational for those of us who see the plan of God carried out in a series of dispensations or time spans; each directed specifically to different groups - the nations, the church or called out ones and the Jews.

I have been watching for 45 years now, since meeting Jesus and giving Him my heart as a teen. I have supported many mission ministries and worked in Sunday School, Children's Church and women's Bible studies, sharing the gospel, teaching, encouraging, and giving tithes and offerings consistently to fund the work of spreading the good news. Nothing extradionary, and probably much less than most of my brothers and sisters in the Lord who have done much more to make sure everyone around them knows that (1)Jesus is God (2) Jesus Saves, (3) Jesus is COMING AGAIN! From the looks of the state of the world at this time, I would say that coming of the Lord, our BLESSED HOPE, could be any moment now and isn't that wonderful!

So, be encouraged Tim, and look up! Don't waste time being offended toward a brother that is covered in the same blood that Jesus has poured over you. Love and blessings to you.

P.S. I am also wanting to "Get outa here" - guilty as charged!!

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

I have always thought that the rapture will NOT happen on a Jewish feast day ..for several reasons..

The first one being that ..the rapture is for the church and the feasts days are for Israel.

The second reason is that Scripture says that as in the days of Noah the people were eating..drinking ..giving in marriage..etc..and the Jews would not do that on a feast day.

Just my humble opinion.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Good point, Sandy. I agree.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

I think that the feast days are significant because the birth of the Church was on a feast day. Pentecost.

Having said that I do NOT believe the rapture has to take place on a feast day. Also for it to be a pre trib rapture we MUST be out of here this year.

We know the time is near!

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Very near! As in, any day now.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Thanks for the post, Texas Sue.

I just hope that fellow watchers stay encouraged and grounded in truth so that our eschatological view does not contradict Scripture.

Unfortunately, some get upset and fall by the wayside...

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

If, by that, you mean some turning to the mid-Trib or post-Trib views, I agree.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Yes, Kathy, that is what I primarily meant. But I have also seen further changes that even go beyond those changes. If we hold to a Pre-70th Week Rapture view, which I believe we do, it stands on Scripture, and not based on our theories of when, as a date.

(My 5 year old wanted the heart-eyed smiley face posted...)

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Good point. Jesus can come get us on any date of the year; he's not bound to any particular dates, as in Jewish feast days.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Actually, I guess I should say that our theory of when should not alter the general "when" according to the Scripture. So if I said 2010 or 2011 for the Rapture and it does not happen, it has no bearing on the veracity of a pre-70th Week Rapture or even the veracity of the Rapture occurring on the Last Trump, which is a Feast Day.

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

Tim,

I wrote this as a reply to Pastor's Joseph's thread, however, it would also apply here as well.

Maranatha, Valerie.

I told you so!

-------------

Pastor Lesly Joseph,

WE ARE STILL WATCHING!!!

I'm still watching, each and everyday, and I'll keep on watching until I die first before the Rapture. Hoping the Rapture comes first, but one never knows, when the Lord will call someone home.

To everyone;

I've been watching for decades now, of course I've been disappointed the Lord didn't come, but it's not of His own doing, it was my own way of thinking that time. Back in the 90's I was watching for dates, as were so many others, for lack of better understanding! However, that quickly faded as I realized, God is not tied to a date for His Son's coming, Jesus will come in God's perfect timing, not ours. Remember the Lord's ways are higher and for a greater purpose than our very own. Who are we to tell God what to do and when to do it!!! Let Go of your way of thinking, and let God's will be done on Earth and in Heaven!

Why would anyone want to give up the watch, for the Lord's Coming? Isn't it the very least we can do for the Lord and watch as He commanded us to do!!! He told us to occupy in the meantime! By occupy Jesus meant to spread the Good News of the Lord's Saving grace, and to continue in our daily actives, of work, school, etc.

When we watch here at this forum we are bringing Jesus to the world, and telling everyone, how much we long for Him and love Him and His appearing. We let people know, since all the signs are pointing to the Tribulation and the Second Coming of Jesus to Earth, that the Pre Tribulation Rapture must come first, beforehand, therefore, we know we are in the Season of His Coming for His Bride.

Whom are you going to listen to, a person that's says you're wasting your time for watching for the Lord, or to Jesus whom commanded us to watch? For myself, I will follow Jesus' command and watch to the very end.

Are you occupying in the meantime, witnessing to others about Jesus saving Grace, and how they too, can receive it by accepted the Lord as their Lord and Savior! WATCHING AND OCCUPYING GO HAND IN HAND!
JESUS SPOKE OF BOTH...WATCHING AND OCCUPYING!
I'm doing both, and if you are too, you're on the right track.

There will always be SCOFFERS, where is His coming, everything is the same as it was when our fore fathers were alive...but truthfully, it's not the same, because we have seen so many prophetic events that have taken place, written in the word of God come to pass in our Generation. Many others, are in the process of being fulfilled, as I write. Just take a look at the daily News reports, and compare them to scripture.

Pastor Joseph, I would love to come and spend a week or even longer watching with you, but I'm disabled, and live with chronic pain due to rheumatoid arthritis, and degenerating discs, to the point I have difficulty in walking, sleeping, sitting, doing my daily chores...travel is something in the past for myself, the only travel that I'll do in the near future is going to Heaven. However, I want to thank you for the invite. Let's just say when we gather here, all of us, we are watching together through this media, the internet, and this forum. I thank God for that much, that I'm able to do what I'm able too, to reach people for the Lord, as most of the time I'm housebound.

Please keep me in your prayers, for the Lord to take this pain from me, so that I can continue to work for God, until He calls me home.

We need to stand firm on our faith in Christ, and especially His promises, that He would return for us and take us where He has prepared a place for us; for all those whom love Him. How can we walk away from watching for His coming, If we say we Love Him so much!!! Oh yea of little faith, in the coming of the Lord.

Come Lord Jesus, we are watching until you do!
You didn't give up on us, we won't give up on watching for you, because we love and long for your appearance. Amen!

Maranatha!

Blessings & Love in Jesus,

Valerie

Re: The passing of the 2011 Feast of Trumpets

II Peter 3:3-4....... Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation
