This is to cover Czech Republic´s view. Today sees the end of 11 week long countdown of best albums of decades on musicserver.cz
This music site is only relevant site in my country. Other than that we got one quite prestigious printed magazine more in the vein of MOJO and some genre magazines with no wider impact, but no lists to be find in them. My favorite magazine hasnt seen the light of 2010, courtesy of crisis BTW.
I had very little hopes for this list and it started really mainstreamish what was quite a nice reflection on that site in general but ended up interestingly and on a high note IMO with killer top 20 and some unusual placings and order.
BTW its all international, no czech acts here, czech top 20 will follow in next weeks. Ranking is done by average score where each participant gave his points. This score is part of the countdown.

Henrik, I looked up this site on Alexa and I do believe the list is eligible for the spreadsheet. Would you agree?

interesting choices. Cool to see some pop albums on there- i.e. Pink (critically undervalued, IMO)- but Michael Jackson's Invincible? Definitely the worst of his studio albums from 1979-present- unless this site just wanted to have MJ representation (like that one singles list that included "You Rock My World").

Who are the participants behind this list? Ranking was done by an average score of the participants' points, but how were the 100 albums chosen to begin with?

As i wrote its big music site with twenty or so writers (actually absolutely huge in realms of czech republic). How many participated in voting is not known but the list is definitely presented as consensus opinion (also some average scores like 8,343 suggest bigger and odd number of participants).
There is always heated discussion under each 11 articles providing the countdown and there were questions about how the list was compiled. The only answer was rather vague, suggesting preliminary round within redaction resulting in picking up 100 albums for farther evaluation. It seems that ranking itself is genuine reflection on average points scores without additional tweaking with the order.

If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like the panel (of however many voters there were) initially submitted their polls, and then the top 100 albums emerging from that poll were voted on AGAIN in a second round (kind of like the AM forum decade polls, where for the final vote we can only rank the "top 100"). If this is the case, I don't know. I think there might be too many unanswered questions for the list to merit inclusion.

you read there too much Harold. Redaction (/writers on music) chose 100 albums and then they put them in order. Nothing wrong with this method which gives genuine outcome and sites view. redaction is like 15 to 20 people, they are biggest in my country. Thats all.

I'm going to let Henrik issue the final verdict here. I'd be happy to include it, and I'm not trying to turn this into a circular argument, but it still looks like the critics all voted on a single list of 100 albums, and it's unclear how that list was initially compiled to begin with.

If you dont include this I cant be bothered to post lists from here in the future, but thats by no means a threat :-),this site is great even without my collaboration.

I want to see it included just because they ranked the overlooked masterpiece Takk so high.

Yay! Ys at number 13! It's ironic that a list composed by a good amount of mainstream pop records, gave that album one of its highest spots inside an EOD, yet =]
