Re: Who wants to laugh? The NME's top 100 British albums ever

Please, please tell me that that's a misprint and that the NME didn't actually place the Arctic Monkeys as the fifth greatest British rock album of ALL TIME?!?

You know, I haven't even heard the record yet and I'm already sick of it. :-)

Re: Who wants to laugh? The NME's top 100 British albums ever

Sorry, I couldn't laugh, I was just too perplexed. Is the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys the editor's son or something?

As usual the British press grossly overates "The Stone Roses" and "The Queen Is Dead." I really like both those albums, but come on!

Re: Who wants to laugh? The NME's top 100 British albums ever

Well, I for once really love both "The Stone Roses" and "The Queen Is Dead" so I have no problem with their high position on list, but they have really gone overboard with all the mediocre Brit-pop albums. Oasis? Coldplay!? Supergrass?!? Muse!?!? It seems in the opinion of NME editors if you don't play catchy guitar rock you're no good.

Re: Who wants to laugh? The NME's top 100 British albums ever

The NME is aimed at teenagers who dont know any old bands.
