The bet:

Each participant will make an ordered list of the top 10 albums 2011, not that you love him but what yuo believe to be the chosen by the magazines, websites, etc ...

How is scored?: Hitting the top spot will be 30 points, second 27, third 24, fourth 22, fifth 20, sixth 18, seventh 16, eighth 14, ninth 12, tenth 10.

If you hit the album but not the final position, subtract two points each wrong position.

Is there a deadline for this? I have a big list of albums I've listened to once and want to listen to more like M83's, Tom Waits', Wilco's, Florence and the Machine's, etc, before I attempt this list.

The obvious ones to appear near the top are the ones like PJ Harvey, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, St Vincent, Tom Waits, etc. I suppose Ry Cooder is probably also on that list, even though indie communities seem not to care about that album, he'll probably get all the dinosaur mag votes. The rest of the list isn't so obvious, and I don't think some of the ones near the top of megacritic will make it, like Kaputt.

I'm not sure that the last 3 on my list have real chances, given that they are not albums as easy to listen at the others, but I don't see lot of other albums that could have broad appeal.
Not sure about Black Up in particular, but no rap albums in the top 10 seemed silly and except if coming Common or Roots albums are great, I don't see who else than Shabazz Palaces could make it to the top 10.

Last year, the website of The Fly magazine published the list of the best of the year on 8 November. It was the early-morning magazine.
