RIP Clarence Clemons

Very sad news.

Clarence Clemons — the longtime saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band — died today in a hospital in Palm Beach, Florida, due to complications from a stroke he suffered last weekend, according to numerous reports. He was 69.

That's terrible news, RIP Clarence.

I wonder if this will mean the end of the E Street Band

I've been wondering the same thing. Absolutely no disrespect to organist Danny Federici, who died of cancer a couple of years ago and had also been with Springsteen since before the beginning, but he was (at least somewhat) replaceable. Clemons? That's another story. His musical role may have diminished over the years, but in a lot of ways he WAS the E Street Band. I can't imagine how devastated Bruce and the rest of the band must be right now. R.I.P., Big Man.

Re: RIP Clarence Clemons

Another sad loss in the world of music.
I can't picture any other saxaphone player playing with Burce.

Re: RIP Clarence Clemons

RIP, Clarence. Aside from his great work with the E Street Band, he played sax on several non-Bruce tracks.

My personal fave of the non-Bruce tracks is his collaboration with Jackson Browne on "You're a Friend of Mine"- cheesy, yet so much fun.
