#3 Sex Pistols vs. #2 AC/DC

Prince |
Steely Dan |
Talking Heads | Touch choice, I think the fact I was listening to alot of TH last week gave them the edge over VH...
Sabbath |
THE CURE |
AC/DC | Though to be honest, really do not want to see either go on to the next round...
MJ | Why couldn't VH or Roxy Music be in this matchup?
The Police |
#1 Prince: Duh.
#3 Steely Dan: Easy choice.
#1 Talking Heads: Another easy pick!
#3 Roxy Music: And another, although given the tepid reception of Roxy here, I think they'll lose.
#1 The Cure: Easy for me, and I love Pretenders.
#3 Sex Pistols: Easy yet again. AC/DC is horrible to my ears.
#1 Michael Jackson: Cakewalk.
#3 Kraftwerk: The 8th easy choice today.
#1 Prince (biggest slam-dunk of the tournament)
#3 Steely Dan
#4 Van Halen (probably a controversial pick, and yes, post-DLR VH is crap, but I love those early years)
#3 Roxy Music
#1 The Cure
#3 Sex Pistols (tougher choice than I expected)
#1 Michael Jackson
#3 Kraftwerk (I used to love the Police as a kid. They are not as good as Kraftwerk.)
Prince
John Lennon (had to think for this one)
Talking Heads
Roxy Music (though Black Sabbath are great and are also my first favorite band)
The Cure
Sex Pistols
Michael Jackson
The Police
#1 Prince
#3 Steely Dan (please let originality, complexity and lyrical genius win over blandness, derivativeness and lyrical mediocrity)
#1 Talking Heads
#3 Roxy Music
#1 The Cure
#2 AC/DC
#1 Michael Jackson
#2 The Police
#1 Prince
#2 John Lennon
#1 Talking Heads
#3 Roxy Music
#1 The Cure
pass -- dislike both
#1 Michael Jackson *
*Is 'Paul Simon' separate from 'Simon and Garfunkel'? If so, I vote MJ. If not, I vote Simon.
#3 Kraftwerk
#1 Prince
#3 Steely Dan - Both have inconsistent albums, with some nice deep cuts and a few great singles. Steely D. has a more of each.
#1 Talking Heads
#3 Roxy Music - Awful matchup between two of my least favorite vocalists of all time. But "Virginia Plain" is great so Roxy Music wins.
#5 Pretenders - The Cure is too inconsistent, and Hynde too bad ass, not to go with the Pretenders.
#3 Sex Pistols
#5 Paul Simon - Much better, if not bigger, solo career. I was listening to parts of Thriller again recently, and too much of it grates.
#2 The Police
#1 Michael Jackson *

Heh... In response, I question whether Michael Jackson is separate from the the Jackson 5 (which I know he is for purposes of this game), since his far and away best work came with his brothers.
I am really surprised at the landslide Jackson win here, but I have been a dissenter on his solo career for a long time now.

To answer a few questions that I am sure will come up:
W had the final vote which put Lennon up over Steely Dan 18-17, e-mailers voted 8-5 for Lennon.
That's the problem with these email voters. AM splits its vote, and they vote wholeheartedly to one artist, do they always get their way. (LENNON!!!!!)

And whenever that happens, it happens for the mutliplatinum artist over the audiophile-pleasing artist.
