SMITHS!!!!!
INXS
DE La Soul
New Order
R.E.M. - Though painful to vote against Social D...
Maiden
Bon Jovi - Ugh, I would take about 4 of the artists I did not vote for above...
STONE ROSES!!!!!
#1 The Smiths - A close one for me. After some flirtation with moving into actively liking the Smiths, I have decided they are overrated, and only a sometime pleasure with an inconsistent catalog. If I knew more Kylie, I might have voted for her, as I do like the big hits off of Fever.
#4 INXS
#3 De la Soul
#2 New Order
#1 R.E.M.
#5 LL Cool J
#11 The Pogues
#7 Orchestral Manuevers In The Dark- Yeah... that's right. And I barely know the work of OMD.
Smiths
Soundgarden
De La Soul
New Order (this better be a blowout)
R.E.M.
Iron Maiden
pass (haven't listened to the Pogues)
pass (haven't heard of OMitD)

The Smiths (A band I had to grow into, and didn’t really start to appreciate until I was about 40. Now I think they’re genius…easily the best band to come out of the UK in the 1980’s.)
INXS (Neither of these bands has a whole lot of credit with critics, which helps decide my vote for the one I just think is more fun.)
De La Soul (Very, very difficult choice.)
New Order (Considering how “of their time” they were, it’s amazing how well NO has held up.)
R.E.M. (Big fan of Social D, though. Mike Ness once threatened to beat the crap out of a friend of mine. It’s OK, he had it coming.)
LL Cool J (but Maiden has better T-shirts)
The Pogues (Bon Jovi’s not bad. They are clean, efficient, shiny and germ-free, with all of the rough edges sanded off. In other words, everything the Pogues are not.)
#1 The Smiths
#5 Soundgarden
#3 De la Soul
#2 New Order
#1 R.E.M.
#5 LL Cool J
#11 The Pogues (Look up Bon Jovi and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on YouTube some time)
Don't care
#8 Kylie Minogue: Brutal choice. Both are in my top 20. But Kylie's in my top 10.
#4 INXS: A pretty good band from the 80s will beat a pretty good band from the 90s every time.
#6 Eurythmics: I like De la Soul, but Eurythmics are vital to my core.
#2 New Order: A top 15 artist against an artist just outside my top 100.
Pass
#5 LL Cool J: One of my favorite rappers.
Pass
#7 Orchestral Manuevers In The Dark: Synth pop beats Madchester.
