Favorite Albums/Songs by decade

50s: "The Chirping Crickets" and "Long Tall Sally", Little Richard

There were two sweeps: Jimi on the 60s and GNR on the 80s. Zep came close in the 70s with Stairway being my second favorite songs of the decade. The * means it's my all time fave.

70s: London Calling and Marquee Moon
80s: Doolittle and Just Like Honey
90: Spiderland by Slint and Jackals, False Grails: The Lonesome Era by Pavement
00s: Probably The Meadowlands by the Wrens and 13 Months in 6 minutes by...The Wrens.
10s: Treats by Sleigh Bells and i don't know (maybe Rill Rill)

One sweep in mine and a couple come close. Desolation Row is right up there amongst my favourite 60s songs. Similarly Revolver/Tomorrow Never Knows are my second favourite album/songs in their decade. Marquee Moon, on top of being my favourite song of the 70s, is my second favourite album of all time, second to...London Calling. Debaser is my third favourite song of the 80s, behind Trilogy by Sonic Youth and Just Like Honey by the JAMC, whose album Psychocandy is nowhere near my favourite album. Good Morning Captain goes top 5 for its decade, as does Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. And then there's the Wrens.

I know it is kind of cheating to put a posthumous release as my favorite album this year, but to be truthful, nothing really came that close this year. As with the topic starter's style, the * indicates my all-time favorite album and/or song.
