Here is the first version of the EOY spreadsheet for the top songs of 2010, including Amazon, Grammy nominations, Pop Matters, Rolling Stone, Fact and NME.
Hopefully the addition of more lists will clear "Need You Now," "Teenage Dream," and "Telephone" out of the top 50.
I'm surprised "Helicopter" is Deerhunter's most acclaimed song from Halcyon Digest. To me "Desire Lines," "Revival," and "He Would Have Laughed" are all much better tracks. Other strange picks to me are "Tell 'Em" over "Rill Rill," "We Used to Wait" over "Sprawl II," and "I Can Change" over "Dance Yrself Clean" and "All I Want."
I would heavily endorse "Tightrope" over "Fuck You" for the top spot.
Flying Lotus should be better represented for sure, but his one song, "And the World Laughs With You," is listed twice.
A new version is up now! The additions are Club Fonograma, Groove, Little White Earbuds, Metromix, Paste, Treble, Hot Press, DJ Mag, Resident Advisor, Pedestrian.tv, Les Inrockuptibles, Intro, Laut, Dagsavisen.
Cee Lo Green's "Fuck You" is ranked number 1 on the spreadsheet, but at number 368, there is "Cee-Lo"'s song "Fuck You". As these are obviously the same song by the same artist, shouldn't they be combined?
Although I enjoy seeing The National get some acclaim in the songs department as well, I don't understand why everyone is going for Bloodbuzz Ohio. The second single, Anyone's Ghost, and about 4 or 5 other songs are better than Bloodbuzz Ohio in my opinion. I shouldn't complain though, I guess.
I'm extremely puzzled as to why All I Want by LCD Soundsystem is only number 33 on the spreadsheet while Dance Yrself Clean and I Can Change are much higher. In my opinion, All I Want is about 10 times better than both those songs combined. Not to say they're bad songs, in fact, they're probably the second and third best songs on the album. It's just so obvious to me that All I Want is better. Oh well, I can only hope that All I Want rises with the addition of more lists.
Updated with The Agit Reader, Austin Town Hall, MTV, New York Post, One Thirty BPM, Pretty Much Amazing, The Silent Ballet, Juno Plus, Pop News, Plattentests, Zundfunk, Screenagers, Rock de Lux, Scanner FM.
Thanks Chris!

Kanye West currently has 3 songs in the top 10. If the order stands he will be the first artist to accomplish this since The Beatles in 1967 (assuming I didn't miss any). The closest artists I could find were LCD Soundsystem (3 of the top 14 in `07), R.E.M. (3 of the top 12 in `92), and the Jesus and Mary Chain (3 of the top 13 in `85).
