The only two albums from the AM decade top 100 that aren't in the EOD top 250 are Loretta Lynn's VAN LEAR ROSE (AM #75, EOD #363) and SANTOGOLD (AM #96, EOD #605).

The AM top 3000 contains 434 albums from 2000-2008; 217 of them - exactly half - are in the EOD top 250 at the moment. Of the 12 Bubblers that have cracked the EOD top 250, seven fell out of the top 3000 with the last site update.

Five of the top eight 2009 albums are in the EOD top 250. Filling in the gaps: WOLFGANG AMADEUS PHOENIX (EOY #4) is #299; IT'S BLITZ! (EOY #6) is #625; and FEVER RAY (EOY #7) is #539.

Is it safe to assume that the 13 albums in the EOD top 250 that are outside the AM database altogether (led by Ricardo Villalobos' ALCACHOFA and VOCALCITY by Luomo) are on track to be at least Bubbling Under in the next update?

I'm not sure where things stand with regard to these lists. Hopefully Henrik sees this or the other thread and responds. I have a feeling that if they were eligible he would have said so already, but it's possible that he just overlooked it (he's been busy!).

Most underrated albums in the top 250 imo. All should at least be twice to three times higher than they are.

File under "Criminally overrated". Each of these should be 40-50 places lower at least.

Some points of interest in relation to the AM top 3000:

Big gainers:

- Funeral seems destined to break into the top 50 of all time but it's a pretty competitive set. It might stay exactly where it is. With Arcade Fire also doing extremely well on the singles list with the holy trinity of "Rebellion (Lies)", "Wake Up", and "Neighborhood #1", I think we'll see The Arcade Fire move into the top 100 artists of all time next update.

- Same story different milestone. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, will almost definitely cross into the double digits next update. I'd guess 85-100, which assuming Wilco's other albums hold, will possibly boost them into the top 50 album artists of all time. That combined with their single "Jesus, Etc" probably going up at least 500-1000 spots, could give Wilco upto a ten spot boost on the all time list.

- With the double whammy of Merriweather Post Pavillion, and My Girls, I suspect that Animal Collective will see a huge gain in their all time artist ranking, possibly breaking into the top 200 of all time.

- Kid A is really distancing itself from Is This It. I'm not sure if it's enough to make it top Is This It on the all time list, but stranger things have happened. It's possible Radiohead will overcome David Bowie on the album artist list, but that will be no small feat to say the least, considering Bowie has 7 albums in the top 500 and Radiohead has 4.

- Whatever They Say I Am, That's What I'm Not has a decent chance of slipping into the top 200. Between that and the ever dropping Return to Cookie Mountain, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a new top album of 2006 next update. Jay-Z's The Blueprint also might break the top 200.

- Daft Punk's Discovery, Modest Mouse's Moon & Antarctica, and perhaps Broken Social Scene's You Forgot it in People seem like the most likely candidates to move from so called "Moderate Acclaim" to "High acclaim", as all seem poised to break the top 500 next update.

- A lot of previously considered "Singles" artists are gaining some steam on albums. Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Britney Spears seem destined to at least add a bubbler or two on the next update.

It was nice while it lasted:

- Wilco's A Ghost is Born and Primal Scream's XTRMNTR seem likely to lose all the ground they gained last update. A Ghost is Born in particular, seems like it will drop at least down to 600, maybe as low as 750.

- Bob Dylan's Love and Theft and Antony & The Johnsons' I Am a Bird Now will probably gain most of the ground back that they lost last update.

The lists biggest losers:

- TV on The Radio is going to turn out to be the biggest loser of the decade end list. At one point, TVOTR was neck and neck with Arcade Fire for most acclaimed new band of the decade. With each update though, that goes down the drain. Dear Science might drop out of the top 500 into "moderately acclaimed" and Return to Cookie Mountain will likely drop into the high 200s.

- Many legacy artists like Brian Wilson, Loretta Lynn, Nick Cave, and Bob Dylan (at least on Modern Times) seem to be consistently dropping. Apparently, people over 50 aren't good enough for decade end lists.

Only the top 6 albums are taken into account. Let's hope they don't surpass Bowie though.

One big jump I'm personally quite excited about is The National's Alligator. Boxer is also somewhat higher than its AM ranking, but Alligator is some 100 spots above its AM ranking (which, you might recall, already climbed like 1000 spots last update).

I personally don't think Radiohead is quite deserving of being above Bowie yet. Bowie has so many great albums. Maybe in an album or two.

Yeah, this has actually been a big surprise. Its like their 3 albums are still pretty acclaimed, but always get pushed aside by everything else.

The problem with TV on the Radio is that they're getting screwed with regards to vote-splitting. Return to Cookie Mountain and Dear Science are just about as even as you get acclaim-wise, and I don't think any other artist has this problem near as bad as they do.

I know I've only been posting here for a little while, but I've been lurking for a long time.

If I recall correctly, Return to Cookie Mountain was at one point #98 of all time, and outranked Kid A, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Stankonia and others.

The fact that what was once viewed as a top 5 album of the decade is only scoring in the mid-40s right now is pretty eyebrow raising.

It's also strange that Arctic Monkeys debut is set to probably overtake that album as AM top album of 2006 (Winehouse went into the decade end lists at too much of a disadvantage.) I see Whatever They Say I Am, That's What I'm Not as being in the exact vein of a lot of albums (Franz Ferdinand's S/T and Bloc Party's Silent Alarm) that have dropped significantly. I don't really know what that album has been spared while they other two took quite a hit.
