Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

The spreadsheet has been updated with the lists from Quart (pop hits) and Lost at Sea.

Thanks to Chris who did all the work!

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Updated with Rockdelux. Thanks again, Chris!

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Thanks for the update! :D

Blecch to "Get Ur Freak On" jumping to #3. I'm sorry, but I've never been a fan of her. Never liked that song.

Just want to point out that Coldplay's "Clocks" is listed twice, which could cause some problems if it starts getting included on more end-of-decade lists.

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Thanks Daniel. That will be fixed on the next update.

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Updated with NPR and Fishpork. Thanks to Chris, who has also added a few lists of music videos in a separate sheet.

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Fishpork should probably be removed from this one too, right?

Yes, Chris has already prepared a new spreadsheet with Laut and The Times, and without Fishpork. I can not upload it until tonight though.

Done.

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

With NME and without Intro. Thanks Chris!

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

I found a few duplicate entries:

Air "Playground Love"
Franz Ferdinand "Do You Want To"
Goldfrapp "Lovely Head"
Gossip "Standing In The Way Of Control"
Junior Boys "In the Morning"
Lambchop "Up With People"
Panda Bear "Comfy in Nautica"
The Flaming Lips "Fight Test"
The Libertines "Time for Heroes"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Cheated Hearts"

Note that a few of these have input on BOTH entries, so songs like "Do You Want To" will actually be much better placed.

Also note that I might have missed something, and that I found this before the last update, so there may be more.

(by the way, there are some excellent songs in here)

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Updated with Guardian. Thanks Chris!

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Chris, are you going to add The Boot, Noise Creep, Popdose, Spinner, and Boombox? The links can be found here

Re: Top songs of the 2000s spreadsheet - update thread

Thanks for finding the duplicates Spiderpig.

I will add those lists in Moonbeam.

Are There...

still some not included? For example, Consequence of Sound- was that eligible?

Interesting to see some things fare better on decade lists than they did on year-end ones. At least if something had decent year-end acclaim and doesn't fare as well as others on decade lists, they still have those year-end placements to help (even though decade carries more weight). Especially in the 90s and beyond, when access to year-end lists resulted in the site having al ot more of those than from pre-1990 years.

Re: Are There...

I'm glad that the decade end lists are a little more balanced than the year end lists...there were several examples of albums like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and In Rainbows which were both #1 for their respective years, with no songs in the top 20 from those albums. Always thought that the idea that an album could be a classic with no classic songs was silly.

Re: Are There...

Updated with Consequence of Sound and Treble. Thanks Chris!

Re: Are There...

Updated with Slant.

Re: Are There...

Wilco's "War on War" was on Treble's top 100 singles of the decade but it's nowhere to be found on the spreadsheet.

Re: Are There...

Thanks Jonathon, that will be corrected in the next update. Please let me know of any other mistakes.

Re: Are There...

A new update with Resident Advisor and Junkonline. Thanks Chris!

Re: Are There...

OneThirtyBPM included. Thanks Chris!

Re: Are There...

Hey, I don't see the Pazz & Jop results included yet. I think they were posted in mid-January, though fanfare this year seemed pretty muted.

Re: Are There...

This is the topic for 2000s, not 2009.

I realized this and logged on specifically to rectify that. I can only blame it on Poll Overload!

The Top 25 "Singles" Artists of the Decade

4. LCD Soundsystem
5. The White Stripes
6. Kanye West
7. Arcade Fire
8. Eminem
