I thought that I'd re-post that list here, as a follow-up to my post on the 2008 albums. A number of albums have been added to this roster since Henrik's initial post (again, I'm aware of this thanks to the update working group), and I've indicated these with asterisks.

In the interests of completeness, I'd also like to note that three albums are being REMOVED from the database, including one that's currently in the top half of the top 3000. That would be NIGHT AT THE VILLAGE VANGUARD, VOL. 2 by Sonny Rollins (currently #1088); I assume Henrik made this decision because the two volumes have been considered as a single entity for so long that trying to separate them has become pointless. The same is probably true for Gerry Mulligan's CALIFORNIA CONCERTS, VOL. 2. The third album in this category is Richard Swift's THE NOVELIST/WALKING WITHOUT EFFORT, which I believe turned out to actually be a compilation.

When is the next update?

I'm listening to Slowdive's Souvlaki right now. I'm absolutely stunned it's not in the AM 3000 already.

kind of sad that no Minutemen albums are bubblers. They have a lot of great ones other than Double Nickels on the Dime.
