When Henrik posted the end-of-decade albums spreadsheet earlier, he noted that it contains every album from the current decade that's already in the AM database - i.e., the ones that are in the top 3000 and all the Bubbling Unders as well.

Well, even a cursory look at the spreadsheet reveals that it contains all the 2008 albums (plus a few earlier releases that made their impact last year) that will be added to AM in the next site update. The update work group has already had this information, in a "new additions" file; now that Henrik's more or less made it public, I'd like to post the complete list here, as a sort of pre-update gift to the forum.

NOTE: Even though Henrik included the EOD lists's few 2009 albums on the spreadsheet, I'm pretty sure he won't be adding any '09 albums (no, not even MPP) in the update.

That seems like a really high amount of albums to be added to the top 3000 when compared to the rest of this decade, or even the past 15 years. Being someone who did not see the update sheets, I think that many of these will be bubbling under.

This also includes the bubbling under, so not all of those albums are going to be in the top 3000.

Sorry for any confusion. To clarify, this list contains all 2008 albums that will be added to the AM database - either in the updated top 3000 or as Bubbling Unders. I have no idea where the dividing line is, or what any of the positions are going to be.

I'd also like to know when the next update is.

As I said in another thread, there might be an update in November, but I can't promise anything. If there will be an update this year, it will only be for albums, as I have too much work left to do with the songs.
