It's exactly the same as the one in the primary case on a WM20. Except that the primary one is brass and the one in the timing cover is ally.

It’s hand engraved 1 13/16” x 18 tpi
I have an Indian made brass threaded plug which seems to be 18 tpi - I haven’t actually cut a thread yet - I have a primary cover somewhere that I can try it on

I had several timing covers here that Robb Nortier had sent me along with his BSA tools to sell for him over here in UK and EU. He'd machined the hole and cut the threads, but most were the later type with the breather boss at the bottom :confused: I'm guessing your tap might have been Robb's? Ron

The thread is 1.8" x 18UNES tpi, we had a discussion about this a few years ago.
We have a cnc program to helically mill the thread in the covers.
