can any one recommend any tyres that have a WD type tread? in a size of 3.25 or 3.50 x 19 size, because i find that modern tyres with a modern tread pattern are very good on the road, but just don't look right on a WD bike
A lot of year ago i was given a genuine Firestone WD tyre,with the crows foot on it & coloured disk disk on the side of it, any body know what that coloured disk signifies?
Quite a number of us are using and pleased with the Ensign Universals commissioned by Vintage Tyres. They're as close to a pre-war / wartime Dunlop Universal as you'll find.
I believe that the large red circular marking was a wartime indicator of synthetic rubber (which obviously had to be dealt with separately in terms of recycling or re-treading).
