This Royal Enfield WD/C spares list has a capital A on its front cover and also on its 1st page,both on the top R/H corner,could its meaning be Abroard?,as an air cleaner is listed,its unusual in that there is no contract numbers on it,the Enfield parts lists mostly have the contract numbers on them,it is dated november 1940,there is also an unusual smaller tool box,the front wheel speedo drive also has red paint on its bung.

Hi Rik, I think you're right it's Australian judging by your photo, the air cleaner looks like a vokes but with 3x adjusting screws and 3x rubber feet, a similar idea to the talflow air cleaner.

This is the Australian contract (1.000 WD/C motorcycles) spare parts list indeed.

The small toolbox is as fitted to civilian Model G etc including post war. I have a spare one of these if needed. The red paint on the speedo drive indicates the number of teeth, I can't remember how many! Other colours were also used for different ratios.

Years ago I had a NOS red painted speedo drive, I think it must have come from Eric and N Africa.
