Did anyone else do a V.E. Day run today ? Another two days and I can do a Fall Gelb run, or the 86th anniversary of this bike travelling up to the Dyle Line as part of "Plan D".
My old dad was in Northern Germany 81 years ago today, alongside No.39 (Canadian) Reconnaissance Wing.It was a working day like any other, but they did get a card from 2nd T.A.F. afterwards.
Dad really appreciated being made welcome by the WD motorcyclists in Normandy too. He was never a motorcyclist himself, but he always supported me in the hobby and he enjoyed the old-fashioned banter that is an essential part of living with old clunkers !
