Both the PME and PMF Middlesex registration series are listed as being issued c. July 1939.

Both C398603 (PME247) and C39147xx (PMF601) came under the joint Norton / BSA contract C3655. 1601 machines from each manufacturer.

Some interesting details... Middlesex registered bikes obviously have a tax disk. And you can see the "Lucas Diffusa" stamp on the headlight glass! But the paper blackout mask doesn't have that typical semi circle cutout...
