What a find Steve, that's a "Rosetta Stone" for the WD AJS owner, thank you for sharing it.

It's a fascinating document that will probably end some discussions...The true "Rosetta" though would include the impressed WD Serials alongside each frame number !:grinning:

I've used my list to confirm 3 x AJS in the past. Fortunately they all had their serial numbers stamped on the crankcase Ron

nice bit of info. i have a 500 engine with just the numbers 9360 stamped witch was orinally in the model 26 i have.
