I have been lucky enough to win a 1938 Lucas HF1140 (type) horn on eBay for the princely sum of £2.23! I was 'well chuffed'.
Externally it looked very poor and that probably put most people off bidding.
Internally it is very good and is trying to make a sound, however the small 'pushrod' screw is damaged and wont budge and may have to be drilled out..........
Do any of you good people out there have a 'spare one' from a broken horn they are willing to donate? UK based.
I might have one of those horns, haven't seen it for a while, will see if I can locate it, I remember it was in very rough condition though, were they fitted to army bikes.
Hi Mike,
Well, what can I say besides you lucky bugger. That's a steal, I paid loads more for mine from Taff years ago. I see it still has the original screw and nut for the fastening band.
