It's not clear in your photos whether there is a semi circular indent in the sides of the mudguard behind the girder fork legs...If there is then the guard is most likely from either a tele fork rigid/early plunger B31/B33 or a tele fork M20/21...If there are no indents it is probably a modified pattern blade or from another model entirely....
In any of the examples above there would need to be a modification to the centre rib to allow the mudguard to be bolted to the conical lug that protrudes downwards between the fork legs....If the rib does not appear to have been altered check for the square stiffener plate that is spot welded to the inside of the guard at this point to determine whether it might be an original guard from a different girder fork model...
The mudguard shown in Rons photo was fitted to all girder fork M20s from the date of your machine to the end of the girder fork models production in 1947/48. So, that's what you should be looking for...Note Rons comment on the mudguard width, the girder models had this wider guard for all the years detailed above...Ian
Hi Mike
As highlighted by Ron & Ian - this looks like a post war B series guard - design & width give it away
If you are looking to part with it - I have an early M20 type guard here - it has half of the number plate holder still attached - the other side that is missing - is replicated by a forum member here
Thanks Ian.
It doesn't have the indents for Tele forks, there is no square welded plate on underside, where the girder 'pillar' bolts to the top looks to be to be 'factory' the rib is nicely flattened. Interestingly I've just discovered X2 drilled then filled holes either side of the central pillar hole....
