Needed to take up rear chain slack, loosened the lock/spindle nets but the adjuster nut hardly moves.The offside spindle moves backwards and forwards in the slot but not the nearside, should I remove the spindle completely? Maybe the snail cam is locked. Decided to renew the chain but what is the best to go for?

Maybe the snail has come to the end of it's movement? Make sure the big nuts both ends are loose and spray some WD40 around the snail and try turning it both ways (Anti clock to tighten chain)
