4-IV-45, Greece /Macedonia Norton 16H.

Photo came from Macedonia ,so might be taken near the border area where Yugoslav forces met the British forces.

Re: 4-IV-45, Greece /Macedonia Norton 16H.

I can't see any British uniforms and the mirror and Tansad type pillion suggest non-British use too. Can you read the full serial number ?

Re: 4-IV-45, Greece /Macedonia Norton 16H.

Cant read the full C number,if the date of 4th April 1945 is correct I think the British army was still in Greece, there is also some padding on the riders saddle, could they have swapped the original pillion seat for a more comfortable one due to the rough roads at the time.

Re: 4-IV-45, Greece /Macedonia Norton 16H.

The padding on the saddle is the 2nd. type of knee protectors, fitted to some bikes with Lycetts saddles in 1941-42.

Cheers,

Lex

Is it Canadian? Who liked to sit on the rear of the fuel tank and often fitted mirrors! Ron
