Im sure I’ll have lots of questions as I’m picking my way through a few jobs.
My first question is carb related
On my bike it has been fitted with a Amal 276 B/1J. Which l believe is from a Matchless G3. I’ve looked at the main jet which is fitted and it’s marked as a 95. The needle jet has no markings other than a Amal stamp. It does start and run but has a few running issues.
I have no idea how much this carb has been messed with and with its age, rather than go round the houses with it.
l’m thinking of just ordering a new carb 276 B/C1 from Burlen. (Amal.co.uk) Anyone here fitted a new carb from them? Are the stock jet sizes good to go, being 170 main jet and a 106 Needle jet?
hi welcome to the forum, there will be some experts coming along. either get the correct carb 276C/1B or put a 1B float bowl and 170 main jet on your car body, the 1J bowl is at the wrong angle.
