I have found this of a WD/RE in a book.
Does anyone know if there was a specific font and size for TP markings?

Adam some of this was done at random in the field or workshop, with no specific size and also probaly chalked on. Here is another Flea with the TP applied sideways. It reads TP F18 R28. Ron

Each year during the war, amongst the regular Army Council Instructions, there was a publication titled "Vehicle Marking". Up to and including 1942, there was no mention of a tyre pressure marking.
"Vehicle Marking 1943" (publication date 20th October 1943) included this for the first time. It refers to "B" vehicles ("A" vehicles were Armour) and although motorcycles were technically "B" vehicles, publications often refer to "B Vehicles and Motorcycles" so instructions relating to them were subject to different interpretations. The note "not exceeding 2" high" does rather imply that they were thinking of larger vehicles than M/Cs.
"Will be painted" clearly indicates that vehicles delivered up to that point did not have the markings ex-factory. For a late war portrayal, they are a possibility but they really became standardised during the post-war era and the impression has formed that WD motorcycles always had them.
This is a last contract WD16H, probably 1945 production, photographed I believe in Norway at the end of the war...No sign of a Tyre Pressure marking. If a stencil is to be offered, it ought to be marked "Occasional, Late War"
