Based on your reaction I managed to find pictures of ZM-frames. You're completely right and kept me free from a frame-swob disaster. many thanks..!
Just to add to Rob's comments, the front down tube was swept backwards more to allow clearance for the mudguard on the tele fork models. Therefore I think you can fit girders to a tele fork frame but not the other way round. Ron
