Interesting document Steve! Here's a few things that I noted:
- early bikes still had the "normal" wiring, only the "late" bikes had the simplified wiring.
- Simplified wiring came with a Varley battery.
- Vokes filter.
- Didn't know the pannier bags were "handed" (L and R version)

Sure the Matchless aficionados will find more interesting little details!

They were handed because of the plain or with buckle to connect them.
