The bike was still (almost) brand new in October 1940. Census number 4300195 corresponds with frame number WM20.24683, and that bike left the factory on August 8th 1940.

A nice clear view of the separate Amal controls and it looks as if there is a dip switch still fitted ?

One from the last ones from contract c6654..wich goes from 210001 till 25000
Somewhere in this contract they changed early levers .offset speedo was fitted and valanced mudguard is also gone...
