Picked this up recently for under £8,its a civilian manual with upgraded covers with extra information on the side car version military big 4,
its got a couple of other contract numbers stamped in purple ink one of which has been deleted with a series of diagonal lines in purple ink,the correct contract number is stamped inside on the wiring diagram page,also has a REME stamp on the cover and several pages inside.

That's a nice find, Steve. Not one that I've seen before. It was a small contract of course. 14 TTC (Technical Training Centre) REME was at Arborfield.
All vehicle contracts required supporting documentation and somehow Norton got away for years simply supplying overstamped pre-war civilian instruction manuals. It's incredible considering paper shortages that they provided books with sections on the OHC engines.
Contract V3565 (Cat Ref. 16) had its own booklet so the overstamping here was either a mistake, or some later books were allocated to the earlier contract.
