Re: 1940 WM20

Thanks for clarifying that Rob. If anyone can help with a copy of that parts book by any means I'd be grateful.

Re: 1940 WM20

Hi Rupert
I have the 1940 parts list & the military supplement too
I am on a 4 day bike run here in Ireland - I’ll to check for it later
I think it’s on my iPad in a pdf format or jpeg
I have used these for my March 1940 deluxe bike

Re: 1940 WM20

Presumably this will be the VAOS LV7 list of proprietary parts such as Lucas, Amal etc...and if John has been extremely fortunate, possibly the list of "Equipment to Scale" (tools etc.) too.

Re: 1940 WM20

Yes its proably the contract C7370 VAOS LV7-BC printed in 1940 and again in 1944.

Re: 1940 WM20

Hi John,

May I please join the queue? I'm building a c7370 WM21, relying on a standard 1940 parts list...

Re: 1940 WM20

As an aside, based on my Norton experience, I wouldn't place too much reliance on a contract-marked Spare Parts List giving absolutely (or even remotely !) correct contract-specific information.

They clearly went to print at the moment the contract was placed but actual production could have started some time later. It's also not certain that all updates were included in text and / or illustrations, nor were improvements held over to a contract change. They were incorporated into production as soon as practicable.

Whilst they're fascinating for showing trends and changes over time when taken in conjunction with each-other, on their own they give a very incomplete picture.
