Apologies for going all post-war, but I'm hoping one of you can help me identify which bikes this headlight belongs to. It has a 7 inch cat's eye glass, Lucas medallion and overly complicated rim catch (compared to my screw up DU142).
It's an M42. According to Brightspark's lists, there were two possible part numbers (perhaps chromed or painted finish). The only motorcycle it is listed for is the Triumph 3T deLuxe from 1946 to 1941. There can't have been many other post-war machines with tank-panel instruments.
Otherwise, one of these, so you now know what your next project is going to be ! :grinning:
Thanks Rik, that's helpful. I searched online, but all those I found had a light switch mount. I realise (looking at the thing again) it's actually stamped M42, but same difference. Now, I do rather like that project 😃
Hello,
I would like to buy this headlamp if possible for my 1948 3T. On my 3T is the wrong headlamp ( later model ) now.
You can E-mail me if wanted ( info@jawamotoren.nl ).
Thanks. regards, Jelle
