Spring clip query...

I've been sorting through some parts and came across a cable clip/guide that I think is Norton...Was it used on the M20 as well?...I'm unsure...Anyway the clip fits round a girder fork leg or similar and has a circular loop/guide attached to it at 90 degrees to the clip....It's been discussed here before but I can't remember it!..Could someone enlighten me as to its use and fitting etc.?...Ian

Re: Spring clip query...

It guides the main wiring loom. Fitted to BSAs too, but apparently nobody knew and it was only Norton onwers who bothered with them. On the right on Nortons, left on BSAs. Presumably a Lucas part.

Re: Spring clip query...

Hi Ian
This is listed as a bsa part in the 1940 military supplement which accompanies the std parts list

I still have a few left here - nos - if you want one

Re: Spring clip query...

Did Lucas continue to fit these for BSA after 1940 or so, or was it discontinued ? If so, how did they stop the wiring from becoming trapped ?

If they were only early-war BSA but continued for Norton, that might explain why we think of them as mainly a Norton item ?

Re: Spring clip query...

Got mine but haven't taking the wiring apart yet to feed it through!
