Hi, I'm Mauro Bongiovanni, I recently purchased a WM20 Sidecar; Number frames: WM20 88928
Could anyone help me and have a copy of the contract and the order of the order of the production of this bike?
I would also need to trace the correct tank number.
Any information or documentation relating to the vehicle is precious for me.
I leave you my email for private contacts: bongiovanni1988@libero.it
Hello Mauro 88298 is one of 15000 bikes under contract S1048 (1943) and I calculate the tank number as C5122328. It's from a contract of solo's and shouldn't have the brazed on sidecar lugs?
I agree Ron. The BSA with "frame number" WM20.88928 and identical "duplicated frame number” on the engine was made under military contract S/1048. This was a contract for 15.000 bikes (frame numbers WM20.81818 - WM20.96817). The census number (on the tank) would have been C5122328. Unfortunately the factory ledgers for this contract have been lost, but from the receipt cards we know that the production of this contract started in early June 1943, at 2.000 bikes per month. Which means that WM20.88928 must have left the factory in (approximately) September 1943. As with 99.99% of the WD bikes, it is impossible to find out in which unit it served. Here's another close number:

Here's one from that contract. Ron
Hi, he was corrected, he has the attached supports of the sidecar frame, so he certainly was born as a single motorcycle and then the sidecar was added at a later time.
Thank you
