The points on my WM20 are set so that at 7/16 BTDC a cigarette paper can be passed between them, but a .002 feeler gauge can't. Is the timing correct or a fraction out?
The timing is set when the points are just parting. A fag paper was always the traditional method of checking. I don't smoke so I use my thinnest .0015" feeler. If you were to set yours at 002" it would slightly advance your ignition as to make no noticeable difference.
Good job at getting it spot on! If it's not spot on, it's better if it's a bit over advanced, and never retarded! You can at least retard it at the lever. Ron
