Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

I am confused, I have now bought rear stand bolts from two respectable M20 dealers, however when fitting them to my original rear stand the shank seems too short and no thread space to place the nuts onto, let alone the washers.

The stand is tight into the frame.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Cheers

Your parts should resemble what is shown on the Draganfly website….

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

There are 2 types of stands circulating at the moment
The originals that have threads on the inside flange and use a 1/2 nut as a lock nut
The Indian repos that use a long bolt with pipe thread and no thread on the back flange
Which type do you have ?

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

I just checked some nasty one like Drags supply that we have in stock and there is enough thread for a lock nut.

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

Thanks,

I have a original rear stand, that has one the holes threaded on the rear flange, it's a very heavy stand.

The bolts are new.

Do I need original bolts then I would imagine?

Thanks

I can measure the shank and let you know what mine are. Could you check it against what you have in stock please mate?

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

Mark
You drawing is incorrect for a start the Hex size is 23/32”
BSA did not use 19mm

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

You really must learn to read the previous posts Darren.

It is mentioned that I considered the replacement bolts as "Nasty"

The drawing is of such.

My fault as I should have titled the drawing as "Nasty"

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

Mark,

My 'nasty' bolts don't equal that drawing, hence the question. So all, please be aware there is a bad batch of these bolts out there! It's not just a one off as bought these twice now with the same issue!

Original bolts purchased.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

I think John O'Brien, mentioned he had some Danny. Though I also think he's in England now.
If they are getting harder to find and someone can post the original dimensions, it's easy to knock a few up.
I have the hex size now :)

Re: Rear stand bolts .... too small

Indian replica stands were copied off the pre war type and have the wrong size holes for the wartime stand bolts..From memory wartime bolts have a 7/16" shank...Ian
