There doesn't seem to be any such thing as a replica 'Chronometric' speedo. Some Indian sellers supply a magnetic instrument with a face that looks a bit simialar, that was originally specified at some point for Indian Enfields but it's deeper and often not geared correctly.
To make a Chronometric type instrument nowadays would be more expensive than the cost of having one refurbished.
If you go on ebay and type in Smiths replica speedo you will find that one Indian manufacturer make a speedo of the right dimensions and uses a standard cable. A friend of mine has bought one and it seem ok. At the price better then nothing.
My friend didn't say any thing about the cable fitting, just that it looked the part and worked. I will be seeing him this Saturday I will have to ask him.
As they weren't very expensive I thought I'd purchase one. The pitch of the mounting matches my repo bracket, but they are inline with the drive spindle. :( Oh well another bracket to make or an adaptor plate.
The cable fitting is metric, but by luck I have a cable that's metric one end and imperial the other end.
If it works it's a cheap temporary one until someone donates me an original ;)
