I made a new lower chainguard using the drawing on the forum. I have the original but it is pretty rotten. I made a new rear brake rod as the threads had all but gone on mine.
Our Toolmaker at work made me a new lower fitting for my top steering damper as I could not get one. I will have the front wheel fitted with newly re-lined brake shoes this weekend.
Still a few more bits to find but build is going quite well.
Photo is how the bike looks now. Lower photos are of some of the pile of bits when I bought it.
That is correct Mark. The one for the telescopic forks has not got the slot for the bolt to pass through and is less than half the length of the girder fork one.
I had a complete telescopic fork damper so after having the part made it was just a case of cutting the rod to length and welding it in.
There was a girder fork damper on eBay recently which I did try to buy but missed out. Fortunately my problem is now solved.
Well look at the knob of the Indian replica, it's not the correct shape like the original. Look closely at the 'teeth'on the side and compare them with an original. It's always easy to spot an Indian damper knob.
