Clutch housing nut

I've had the sleeved nut holding the clutch basket on come loose today. How tight does this need to be and is it a good idea to use some threadlock on it .
Thanks

Re: Clutch housing nut

It happened to me too. I refitted the nut with Loctite and a rattle gun. I also use Loctite on the cush drive nut. Ron

Re: Clutch housing nut

Thanks Ron. Will do

Re: Clutch housing nut

I never use Loctite on either nut...For the main shaft nut I put the bike in gear, apply the rear brake and tighten the nut manually with a socket...
For the clutch spring nut it should be done all the way up until it bottoms out...Then tighten using a C spanner or modified socket and drive up with a hammer (windy tool as an alternative)...I've never have either come loose...

Likewise with the engine shock absorber nut...Ian
