Engine M24

I received a BSA M24 engine with engine number 407 in oily but running condition. I have the list from Georg Wander but he is not listed.
Is it possible that this motor with frame went to the army? For hints, I would be very thankful.

Greetings Klaus

Re: Engine M24

The customer listed for the M24 with engine number KM24 407 was indeed 'War Office, London' with a despatch date of 4th September 1939 - one of twenty-four M24s to the same destination around 4th - 6th September

Are there any other markings stamped on the crankcases ?

Hi Rik,

There are no other stamps exempt the halfnumbers on the cases.
The Guy I bought from told me, the bike appeared at Cologne in 1939 and were splited. Frame and other parts are disapered over the war time. The engine was burried and diged out after war. Do you have other details about frame number and destination? Like as PM
Cheers Klaus
