1941 WD G3L Lucas E3AR Dynamo Question

I am looking to source a new 17 Tooth sprocket for my Dynamo.

Checking the parts list, it shows two separate numbers STD-275 and STD-276. It says parts numbers changed due to change in manufacturing.

Best I can tell this is the STD-725

and this is STD-726

Are the both able to be used with the Lucas E3AR Dynamo?

Cheers

Al

Re: 1941 WD G3L Lucas E3AR Dynamo Question

Yes the only difference is the two flats and slots on one of them to make it easier to hold the sprocket with a spanner or blade whilst the center nut is done up/undone. Ron

Re: 1941 WD G3L Lucas E3AR Dynamo Question

STD725 is the correct dynamo sprocket. It should be used with woodruff key STD572, a special dynamo sprocket retaining nut STD611, Special locking washer STD164 & Locking ring STD708.

STD726 is the sprocket for the magneto armature shaft.

STD727 is the sprocket for the engine camshaft.

All of the above are probably available from Les at Russell motors.

Quite right Peter. Alun's comment about the parts list stating them being interchangeable threw me......I can't see that in the list I'm looking at now and should have looked sooner. Ron

Re: 1941 WD G3L Lucas E3AR Dynamo Question

All sorted.

Bought the correct Sprocket STD-725, and all the other parts Peter mentioned.

Sprocket was hard to find and got a little smacked on the price of shipping. Cost more than the part.

I'm expecting a man in a tuxedo at my door handing it to me from his white gloved hand for that price :)

Slowly getting there.
