Re: triumph trw speed

an 18T engine sprocket seems very small. When I acquired my 5SW it had an 17T sprocket and revved like crazy at 30mph. Until I replaced it with its correct 20T. I've read that a TRW should cruise at 60-65, so I rekon you have a sidecar sprocket fitted and you probably need a 20 or 21. Ron

Re: triumph trw speed

my triumph trw had a 21 tooth engine cog and it was reving hard at 50 mph and it was low revs in top at 30mph high revs in third i changed it for a 23 tooth engine cog it didnt make much differents maybe the same revs to do 55 mph it did make a different at 30 mph in third i am now fitting a 25 tooth cog which the largest you can fit (space) i havent tried it yet waiting for some non related bit

Re: triumph trw speed

In your first post, you said it had an 18T sprocket (A cog is something in a windmill) Now you say it had a 21T and changing it to a 23T makes little difference??? The percentage difference will be the same in all the gears.....Are you sure your clutch isn't slipping? A 25T sprocket seems excessive to me. Ron
